I adore this Mollie Parnis dress!

I just think this is adorable...very tailored and conservative styling with the unexpected slit to the knee Mollie Parnis emerald green dress c. late 60s to early 70s cusper. Mollie Parnis designs were popular with several 20th century American First Ladies and I am pleased to have this one listed now on ebay, or it is available now on etsy.

Speaking of ebay, anyone who buys or sells there should be aware of changes coming soon. Ebay will begin levying their Final Value Fee (FVF) on shipping charges as well as selling price. They've got some sheeple convinced it's about catching all those sellers who sell twenty dollar widgits for $.99 with 19.99 shipping charge who are trying to circumvent the fee. And yes, those sellers should be on a level playing field with the rest of us but that could've been remedied by making everyone use the shipping calculator and charge the exact shipping cost.
What this is about is MO' MONEY for ebay, and as always the sellers will have to build it into expenses and then it gets passed on to buyers. I calculated the difference in current and new fee systems based on my monthly average sales--my total fees will increase 13% effective in April on ebay. Anyone with even an elementary grasp of business math can see that's an extreme increase to swallow! When you look a little deeper, you will also find (based on "pinks" question and answer sessions on ebay, I'll be happy to find it for you) that if you, the buyer, purchase three items from the same seller, the automatic tally when you check out will give you the three items with full shipping cost. Now, most sellers graciously discount multiple orders, BUT WAIT, under this new system they will be losing even more money! According to one discussion board post "pink" staffer, the FVF will be charged on all three items selling price plus shipping. If the seller later sends an updated invoices reflecting a discount, ebay has no plans to refund the FVF difference to the seller! All the usual seller screaming and demanding boycotts aside, it does put ALL ebay users at a disadvantage. I think alternative sites, like etsy and others, will easily benefit from this, which means sellers can maintain current pricing structures with their existing target customers, thus benefitting buyers as well. Stay tuned...

You can get more info here: http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/Seller-Central/Combined-Shipping-Fvf/510320253#1301247101575 but there are dozens of threads on this topic all over ebay's discussion boards.

HUGE vintage lingerie event on ebay for January...

All through the month of January, enter "VTE" in your ebay search bar and find loads of vintage lingerie and boudoir-related items listed from participating ebay vintage clothing and accessory sellers! There should be hundreds of items listed over the month, but be sure to check back often because some will be on 30-day fixed price listings and others will be traditional auctions. There is no price constraint, but some sellers will be offering discounts or other perks (almost all sellers offer combined shipping discounts, just ask!) and many items will be seen for the first time.

This beautiful Persian lamb sweetie just found a new home last week--add that one to the list of things that I almost kept for myself!
Brought home this sweet Lilli Diamond jersey in a rich cocoa brown...absolutely drool-worthy ;)
Also hoping to get some of these fab 50s sewing patterns up--put the first few on ebay yesterday, but have a bunch to go--great time of year coming for sewing projects! The perfect summer Estevez hostess Maxi dress!

Nothing says summer like this garden party print Vintage 60s Eva Gabor style Estevez! I've just listed it. It's a crisp but soft triacetate over silky nylon lining that follows the length of the skirt. Lovely construction and would be so flattering (if only yours truly was a little more petite *sigh*).

For the lingerie lovers, I am listing this weekend a rainbow of sherbet-hued vintage slips including a few Van Raaltes--those will be on ebay under my houndlover68 id.

BIG Vintage Sale coming up--get ready!

Well, vinties, while I normally promote other selling sites more, our seasonal VBO sale is quickly approaching on eBay! Dozens of sellers will be featuring hundreds of items to move quickly. Here's the skinny for those of you not familiar:

1. Sale starts at midnight Pacific time--on this date it will begin 12am PDT May 22 and continue until May 26. Sellers will continue to add more items in the first couple of days, and some may drop the price on unsold items even more, so check back again later in the sale.

2. Find the items by searching for "VBO" in the title. Some items may say they're listed for 30 days--the sellers will just remove vbo from the title if it doesn't sell by sale end...grab it if you want it! The first day or so is historically the most competitive.

3. Items in the sale will be priced at $19.99 USD or less on a buy-it-now basis. Most items will be one of kind, so don't hesitate if you see something you love. Keep in mind, some sellers are pricing more aggressively than others...you may see some items at close to regular price and some at a real blowout, most will be a great deal.

4. Almost every eBay vintage seller will be delighted to offer combined shipping (even if the other item(s) is not a VBO item) or accomodate some special request--just ask!

5. And finally, don't limit your search to the vintage clothing category--some items will also be listed in sewing, jewelry, housewares, etc. This sale is traditionally clothing but also offers other types of vintage items!

Feel free to contact me with any questions! Many of the items I personally have listed now will be converted to VBO items next week and I'll be adding more during the next week: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/houndlover68_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ
